The Strengthening Life Project

“Strengthening Life” is a culturally led developmental research project, that will utilize the process of an Indigenous culturally intrinsic research paradigm and accompanying methodologies to achieve two outcomes:

1) clearly articulate research questions to
2) deeply identify expansive Tribal and community-determined healing approaches, methods, and practices that consistently and effectively support sustained substance misuse prevention and recovery for individuals, families, and communities.

The research project is housed in a holistic view of health and well-being, which extends beyond the addiction experience and can support community and generational healing. To achieve this aim, the National Native Center of Excellence and tribal partners research teams will utilize a non-prescriptive research paradigm and methods framework built upon tribe specific Indigenous knowledge, sacred ways of knowing, and community value systems and worldviews.
